Adventure lovers, this tour package is for you! On this epic journey, you'll have the opportunity to spend a night in a permanent tent at Mt. Everest (Qomolangma) Base Camp, in addition to seeing many of Tibet's most sacred religious sights and other natural wonders.

Your guided tour will start in the Tibetan capital of Lhasa, where we'll take you to see the city's best-known sights, including Jokahng Temple and Potala Palace. You'll also be able to take part in some ancient Buddhist rituals, such as walking the sacred pilgrim's path of Barkhor Circuit and watching monks hold debates on Buddhist scripture at Sera Monastery.

From Lhasa, we'll take you see a variety of stunning natural sights, including Yamdrok Tso Lake, Karola Glacier, and more, before taking a scenic drive through mountainous terrain to Mt. Everest Base Camp. Here, in addition to enjoying the full majesty of the world's highest peak up close, you'll be able to reflect on all of the expert climbers who passed through this same spot prior to staging their journey to the top of the world.

On the way back to Lhasa, you'll get to see even more of Tibet's amazing landscape, including a night on the shores of Namtso Lake, the highest saltwater lake on the planet.

Barkhor Circuit – follow in the footsteps of pilgrims past and present as you walk clockwise along this sacred path

Norbulingka – stroll around this peaceful palace complex and its beautiful gardens, once the summer residence of the Dalai Lama
Overnight – Lhasa

Potala Palace – appreciate the majesty of this iconic Tibetan palace, which sits 300m above Lhasa on the top of "Red Hill"
Lunch – Tibetan or Chinese cuisine
Sera Monastery & Buddhism Scripture Debate – sit in the courtyard and watch monks debate Buddhist scripture, part of what makes this monastery famous
Overnight – Lhasa

Drive to Gyantse – enjoy a scenic drive through the Tibetan landscape (310 km, around 5 hours)
Kambala Pass – sitting at an altitude of 4,990 meters, this pass offers unparalleled views over Yamdrok Tso Lake
Yamdrok Tso Lake – walk around one of Tibet's three holy lakes, known for its mysterious, deep, turquoise blue waters

Karola Glacier – get a close-up view of this spectacular 5,000-meter-high glacier
Manla Reservoir – enjoy the vivid waters of this beautiful mountain reservoir
Overnight – Gyantse

Palkhor Monastery and Kumbum Stupa – discover this unique monastery, home to the largest stupa in Tibet, as well as numerous ancient Buddhist artifacts
Gyantse Old Street – walk through this ancient Tibetan neighborhood and get a glimpse of local life
Gyantse Dzong – one of the best-preserved fortresses in Tibet
Drive to Shigatse – 100 km, around 2 hours

Tashilhunpo Monastery – explore the largest functioning religious institution in Tibet, also the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama
Overnight – Shigatse

Drive to Mt. Everest – enjoy a scenic drive through the Tibetan landscape (350km, around 7 hours)

Rongbuk Monastery – visit the highest monastery (4,980m/16,340ft) in the world at the foot of Mt. Everest
Mt. Everest – come face-to-face with the highest mountain in the world (weather permitting)
Overnight – in a basic hotel or a permanent tent

Sunrise on Mt. Everest – take in the striking views as the first rays of sun hit the slopes of Mt. Everest (weather permitting)
Drive back to Shigatse – enjoy a scenic drive through the Tibetan landscape (350km, around 7 hours)

Overnight – Shigatse

Drive from Shigatse to Lhasa – enjoy a scenic drive through the Tibetan landscape (285 km, around 5 hours)

Visit a local Tibetan family – get an intimate glimpse of local life by visiting the home of a Tibetan family
